Both Miss Paula and Miss Grace dedicate themselves to being the very best dance, performing arts and fitness teachers they can be. They regularly attend classes for themselves, along with many CPD courses covering a variety of subjects. As a school, we pride ourselves on raising confident, happy students who support each other in the development of their rounded performance education.
Miss Paula began her dance training at 3 years old, within her local dance school, where she performed in multiple performances as ensemble and character roles. She progressed quickly through graded tap and ballet syllabi.
At 13 she began training full time at stonelands Performing Arts School in Brighton, gaining excellent technical training, along with more stage performances as a dancer, actress and singer.
Since leaving Stonelands Miss Paula has danced within centres of excellence for dance training, and attended full time college. Here she gained her ISTD dance teaching qualifications, under the guidance of some the best ISTD teachers and examiners in the UK.
Miss Paula completed her training in 2012 and has continued to attend CPD courses, gaining her 'progressing ballet technique' qualified teacher status. In class, she focuses on the children enjoying the dance genre while providing the best training possible.
Grace’s love of dance began at a young age at The Hawthorns School, where she thrived in ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern syllabi, and graded Jazz Awards, as well as Latin and Ballroom.
From the age of 10, she competed in local dance festivals and performed in professional pantomimes. She went on to train at Songtime Theatre Arts Company, gaining technical expertise in stagecraft, vocals, acting, and dancing, and was nominated for Best Newcomer and Best Achievement Awards.
Grace successfully auditioned for Italia Conti Theatre Arts Centre, where she started her ISTD teacher training in Tap, Modern Theatre and Ballet. She holds a full DDE Teaching Qualification and is currently advancing her qualifications through Dance Teachers Inc. Additionally, Grace is recognised as a certified Acrobatic Dance Teacher.
Grace’s vision is to share her passion for dance within a positive teaching environment, enabling all of her students to enjoy learning to dance and to achieve their full potential.
Georgia began her dance journey at the age of 3 at her local dance school, where she continued until attending vocational college from 2019-2022. She trained at The Centre Performing Arts College in Kent, graduating with a diploma in Theatre Performance. Now working in the professional dance industry, Georgia continues to train with highly accomplished, working dancers. She is excited to bring her passion and experience to the studio
Fran started her dance journey at the age of 3, training at Laine Theatre Arts Junior School until she was 16. She then pursued full-time training at the London Russian Ballet School until the age of 19. Driven by her passion for dance, Fran chose to focus on teaching and specialized in Ballet. She went on gaining her DDE qualification with the ISTD, dedicating herself to sharing her expertise and love for ballet with others.
From a young age, Becky has had a deep passion for performing, believing that drama is not only a skill for the stage but for everyday life. She trained at RADA and has since been cast in a UK and Ireland tour of Sense and Sensibility. When she’s not performing, Becky is dedicated to nurturing young talent, helping them reach their full potential. With a 100% pass rate for her LAMDA exams and a proven track record of helping students gain entry into the GSA Junior Conservatoire, Becky’s commitment to excellence in training is truly inspiring.
Chloe is a teacher, choreographer, and performer who believes in the power of empathy, holding space, compassion, play and accountability. She holds a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA in Choreography from Trinity Laban, where she was a Leverhulme Scholar. Chloe also completed her Pilates mat certification at The Kane School in New York before relocating to London in 2019. Her rich academic background and diverse experience shape her unique approach to dance and movement.
Helen has been teaching dance for over 13 years. Her passion for the Performing Arts, particularly Choreography, began at the age of 3. Helen earned most of her dance qualifications at Laine Theatre Arts and later trained at Kingston Teachers Training College and DanceTeachersInc, where she gained her ISTD qualifications to teach Tap and Modern. She is proud to hold a Fellowship in Tap and a Licentiate in Modern Theatre, and she continues to share her expertise with her students, fostering a love for dance and performance.
Laura is a highly skilled dancer and instructor, having trained at Laine Theatre Arts in ISTD Ballet and Modern. She went on to graduate from Kingston University London with a First-Class BA Honours Degree in Dance. Laura's innovative style and fresh approach to dance make her an inspiring presence in the studio.
Florence is a graduate of the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts, where she earned a First-Class Degree in Performing Arts. As a former Royal Ballet Associate and a competitor in national dance competitions, she brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her craft. With her passion for dance and extensive expertise, we’re excited to see how she will elevate our ballet programme to new heights.
Charlotte’s love for performing began at a very young age, and she continued to nurture her passion through local dance training, gaining vocational exams in ballet and modern under the guidance of Paula and Helen. She went on to train at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and was a member of the National Youth Theatre. Charlotte later pursued her studies at Durham University, where she not only taught dance for the Durham Youth Musical Theatre Company but also choreographed several productions. Her diverse experience makes her a dynamic and creative force in the dance world.
At Willow Dance & Fitness, we are dedicated to giving the best technical performance training. Our students are able to develop their love of dancing as a hobby, and should they wish to they could pursue dance and performance as a career, given the foundation we've provided.
Shown for the school, teachers, peers and the student themselves. Students respond well to correction and collaborate with teachers to learn and grow as a dancer. Displaying self-confidence and taking themselves and their training seriously.
When in class, students are not put off by their mistakes, they will give things another go and try new things without resistance.
Students are seen to be encouraging to others in class and invite peers into their social circle. Smiling at other dancers in class, saying kind things to each other between classes, quietly and respectfully watching others whilst they dance solos and upholding the ethos of our Willow Family.
Building a supportive and inclusive community at Willow is essential for creating a welcoming and positive environment for all of our dancers - regardless of their age, abilities, or backgrounds.
Students strive for improvement each week and search for new ways to improve themselves. Displaying self-reflection and correction in class, researching dancers and dance history to learn about their dance roots and inspire themselves through learning about others.
Students arrive punctual and enthusiastic, in full uniform with hair tied neatly back. Students practice outside of class, or teach peers things they may have missed. Students are keen to attend workshops and/or live performances to broaden their knowledge of dance, gain insight into the industry and keep themselves inspired to progress.
We believe that offering a kind and welcoming atmosphere is the best way for our students to enjoy learning to dance, building their self-confidence and achieving their full potential.
